Peruvian Independence Day, celebrated on July 28th, commemorates the day in 1821 when General José de San Martín declared Peru’s independence from Spanish rule12. This day is part of the larger celebration known as Las Fiestas Patrias, which also includes July 29th, honoring the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru1.

Peruvian bistro par excellence “Lima” has moved from the food court at Zacateros/Pila Seca and just opened in Los Frailes for public dining (though they continue to take delivery orders).   Located at Calle del Angel 17, they are open from 1P till 8P every day except Wednesday.  Reservations a must 415 566 4782.  Outdoor dining with two sheltered areas in case of rain, inside dining is still a work in progress.
