When international touring artist Enrique de Allende, a versatile tenor whose repertoire is a crossover of opera and pop, made his Carnegie Hall debut in October 2023, the theater press office pronounced him “Mexico’s new golden voice.”
Though Enrique was born in San Miguel, his international career has kept him on the road for most of the year. After a one-night appearance in March at Johnny’s Piano Bar, he toured the United Kingdom. But he is returning briefly to San Miguel, and on Monday, May 19, 2025, 6pm, at Centanni Ristourante in Centro, Canal #34, he will perform classic boleros and other romantic Latin songs, with the superb ten-piece mariachi band Los Camperos Estampas de Mexico. The show is entitled Mexican Serenata.

The music producer and composer David Foster, who has trained and produced artists such as Josh Groban and Celine Dion, winner of 16 Grammy Awards, has this to say about Enrique: “The interpretations of Enrique de Allende bristle your skin. It is an experience that penetrates your ears and connects you with universal contemporary music, with a romantic, classical style, but with a youthful touch. It’s the new Julio Iglesias, with a sweet but powerful voice.”
