Diálogo Filoso, by the artist Rocío Sáenz, brings perspectives on power, division and reconciliation to San Miguel.

Rocío Sáenz, a visual artist based in Guadalajara, returns to San Miguel de Allende after several years, this time with a new collection of original works that address topics of hierarchy, power and social division, but also of possibility within the current national and global conversation.

The works exhibited in “Diálogo Filoso” pose a series of dialogues that establish hierarchies of leadership and power among themselves, sometimes weaving conclusions within a world where all beings contemplate reality in a different way. A flexible atmosphere is created so that various positions, including absurd and incoherent ones, try to find unity. Rocío creates a fantastic world, in which one dialogue reconfigures another almost infinitely, constructing a possible way of understanding the prevalent divisions within society.

“Diálogo Filoso,” the exhibit’s magnum opus, bears the title of the exhibition and sparked the rest of the work. As part of her “La Pradera de los otros” project, it was financed by Mexico’s National System of Creators, in 2022 .

The event is organized by Comunidad Creativa Camino Al Arte, a civil association dedicated to promoting art and culture through artistic residencies, community arts education activities and reading programs.
