“Dale Color a Tu Vida”, an artistic event organized by IMAM that seeks to strengthen mental and emotional health through dance and corporal expression.
This Saturday, May 3 at 5:00 p.m., the Zeferino Gutiérrez Park will be transformed into a stage of life, art and community with the program “Dale Color a Tu Vida”, promoted by the Municipal Institute for Women’s Affairs (IMAM) and supported by public and private institutions. The activity, framed within the National Suicide Prevention Campaign and the International Dance Day, proposes a collective experience to reconnect with the body, emotions and mental health.
The event is designed for all audiences, regardless of age or gender, and includes a variety of artistic presentations that combine contemporary dance, ballet, folklore and dance therapy. The day begins with a “flash mob” in the Jardín Principal, coordinated by the Ballerina Dance Academy, which will mark the start of an afternoon full of conscious movement.
Afterwards, the program moves to Zeferino Gutiérrez Park, where groups from CEDECOM will present regional dance pieces, as well as choreographies such as Great Swans, Pas de Quatre and a special interpretation of Swan Lake. As an emotional closure, the artist Marianna López Cortés and her collective will lead a dance therapy session under the title “To flourish is to recognize, reconnect and be reborn”.
The initiative seeks to highlight the role of art as a tool for emotional connection, suicide prevention and strengthening integral wellbeing. Institutions such as the Secretariat of Citizen Security, CAISES, CEDECOM, private hospitals and social organizations join this inter-institutional effort for a healthier and more caring society.
