Pilgrimage to Atotonilco

San Juan de DiosSunday is a unique opportunity to join a pilgrimage that only lasts a morning, rather than days. Pilgrims will start from the St. John of God church at 8AM. They are taking the image of the Lord of the Column (Jesus leaning over a column while being whipped) in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus celebrations that have been going on for two weeks.
The pilgrimage ends with a noon mass at the sanctuary in Atotonilco.
The Lord of Column is returning to his home turf in time for the Jesus of Nazareth ceremonies coming up mid-month, the apex of celebrations in Atotonilco.
