The Guanajuato Bach Festival, founded in 2019, stands out as a unique event of its kind and specialization in the country. Born in the heart of the State Institute of Culture of the State of Guanajuato (IEC) at the initiative of maestro Gijsbertus de Graaf, honorary artistic director since its creation, the festival has the support of the IEC and an audience that has embraced it warmly throughout five editions.

This project stands out for the virtuoso collaboration of national and international performers such as Carlos Aransay, Raúl Moncada and Erik Bosgraaf, as well as for the formation of a resident ensemble with the best baroque musicians in the state: the Bach Consort Guanajuato, which has achieved a remarkable improvement in the interpretation of the great of music.

In its sixth edition, the Guanajuato Bach Festival expands its horizons, with stages in León, Irapuato and the capital, making this year’s five programs available to a wider audience.
