Guanajuato is a land of wines, since it is currently positioned as the fourth producer of this distillate in the country, producing approximately 700 thousand bottles a year, through the 43 vineyards that rest in the state, of which 20 offer wine tourism activities.

Of these wine houses, five stand out as the Best Wineries and Vineyards in Gua

1. Cuna de Tierra Vineyards

This vineyard is located in Dolores Hidalgo, which offers wines to the public since 2008. In 2010 he made the label “Cuna de Tierra Bicentenario”, exclusive for the department store Palacio del Hierro, going on sale “Cuna de Tierra” and “Pago de Vega”.

Since then, labels of Viñedos Cuna de Tierra have obtained 84 medals in international competitions, which are carried out in an artisanal way in its boutique vineyard that has more than 30 hectares where numerous wine and wild varieties are grown for graft feet.

2. Bodega Dos Búhos

Dos Búhos is described as the collective dream of three generations of the family, reflecting experience and passion for art, architecture, agriculture and wine. The property has more than 60 years of agricultural, fruit and livestock production, which now, dedicated to wine production, allows to make use of the extensive knowledge accumulated about the climate and land of the region.

Located in the Mexican Altiplano, at the base of the Los Picachos mountains, it is an organic vineyard and family winery, which produces artisanal wines entirely from its own vineyards.

3. Tierra de Luz Hacienda Vinícola

Tierra de Luz is an ideal space to relax, while connecting with nature, tasting a house wine, pairing with a pleasant meal, which makes it an ideal place to go in the company of friends, family, couple or even make a business meeting.

This vineyard has been open to the public since 2015, however, it is one of the oldest ex-haciendas in Mexico, since Hacienda Jaramillo de Abajo dates back to 1550. This enclosure arises through a gift of land granted by the viceroy of New Spain Don Antonio de Mendoza to the captain and conqueror of Tenochtitlán: Juan Jaramillo encomendero de Jilotepec, husband of the famous Doña Marina or La Malinche, the interpreter of the conqueror Hernán Cortés.

4. Tres Raíces

It is located in the heart of the Bajío, in San Miguel de Allende. The space promotes oenology, wine tourism, gastronomy and local development, together to delight each of the senses. It has different spaces for social, business and family events.

The restaurant with root cuisine, surrounded by more than 60 hectares between vineyards, water mirror that makes the stay a delight to the senses, also offers tastings and tours of the vineyards, underground cellar and wine production area.

5. Hacienda San Jose Lavista

Its construction was located on a hill overlooking the lights of San Miguel de Allende and La Presa Allende, this ambitious project was conceived from scratch in 2010. Its main characteristic is to be an exclusive and beautiful space in the area, chosen by couples to celebrate nuptials.

Its rooms, its interior patios, games room, cellar and terraces together with the objects, pieces of art and furniture collected for many years for the project, recreate the charm of an old hacienda with the comfort of modern life.
