International Jazz and Blues Festival arrives in San Miguel de Allende

TheXXVIII International Jazz and Blues Festival of San Miguel de Allende will take place from November 16 to 20 in 5 venues of the World Heritage City.

The Ministry of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato, through the Directorate of Tourism Products, together with the municipality of San Miguel de Allende promotes this cultural tourism event related to Jazz and Blues music that attract specific tourism, generate economic spillover and strengthen the tourism strategy of the entity’s destinations.

Jazz festivals in Mexico contemplate only music, however, in this edition San Miguel de Allende offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the participation of 2 great Tap dancers of international stature, who generate an unparalleled performance.

This Jazz and Blues Festival -in which distinguished artists of nationality from Romania, the United States, Canada, Colombia, Peru and Mexico participate- will be held at the headquarters of the Cultural Center “El Nigromante”, Bellas Artes, Angela Peralta Theater and Cultural Center of Santa María El Obraje.

The actors participating in the XXVIII are: Romanian Jazz Fusion Group “JazzyBIT”; Mexican singer “Grizz Piña Blues Band”; Whitney Shay Blues Band, from the United States; tap dancers “Sarah Reich and Nico Rubio”, along with singer Maiya Sykes’ jazz band from the United States; and “Antonio Lozoya Jazz & Blues Collective”, featuring a tribute to Stevie Wonder.

On this occasion, in conjunction with the State of Guanajuato, the organizers carry out sustainable practices in the event as a map of how to get to the festival, the concert venues and important points of San Miguel de Allende.

In the venues there will be easy access for the elderly, there will be railings in stairs and bathroom, as well as ramps and parking. Also, the general public can enjoy free screenings of films alluding to jazz, blues and their musicians, for all audiences. And, the organizers of the event support the local consumption of service providers in San Miguel de Allende.
