In order to strengthen the service and quality of water, the Municipal Government of San Miguel de Allende and the Government of France have signed a collaboration agreement, which also seeks to preserve this asset.
At the signing ceremony, the municipal president, Mauricio Trejo, was accompanied by the president of the Board of Directors of SAPASMA, Jaime Labrada, and Hugo Wiederkehr, commercial technical engineer and representative of the company ‘Altereo’, in coordination with the French Embassy in Mexico.
This agreement aims to reduce the number, duration, and flow of leaks; through the mobile application HpO, which is managed by artificial intelligence, information will be collected from the hydraulic infrastructure that will allow to calculate the risk of failure, and thus plan priority rehabilitations. It will also be possible to deploy acoustic sensors to detect leaks, and thus reduce and adjust pressures according to the area so that sustainable water services can be guaranteed.
“It leaves us very motivated. On the one hand: investment, and on the other: relationship and as an objective: joint actions to improve all the aspects that we have here and that lead us to improve water management, which, in San Miguel de Allende, which is one of the great challenges,” expressed Mauricio Trejo during the signing of the agreement, while highlighting the presence of the French community in San Miguel de Allende.
Within the framework of this commitment, the municipal president stated that he will follow up with the French Embassy in Mexico, to continue with the diplomatic efforts so that San Miguel de Allende and this European country continue to strengthen ties and thus benefit the communities of both places with cultural, tourism and economic development projects.
