RANS KRACJBERG: FROM THE FIRES OF THE HOLOCAUST TO THE FIRES OF THE AMAZONIAN FOREST
Be ready to meet an extraordinary man, an artist who worked until his death at 98! You will never forget him! FROM THE FIRES OF THE HOLOCAUST TO THE FIRES OF THE AMAZONIAN FOREST “My works are my manifest. The fire is death, abyss. The fire will always be with me. The destruction has forms. I am searching for images to scream my revolt.
”FRANS KRACJBERG From ethics to esthetics, Kracjberg’s art will startle and touch you in a myriad of different emotions. To use his words, he sculpted, photographed, painted, printed, and collaged in order, “To mourn the face of the world.” In this presentation, Bea will talk about his life; how he lost his family and his first love in the fires of the holocaust; how he escaped and moved from Poland and Russia to Brazil, how he dedicated his life and art to his environmentalist activism; and of course, share with you numerous images of his monumental sculptures made from calcinated trees, his photographies, his collages… EVERYTHING!
