They will be given plenty of love, individual attention, and exercise (dogs get a country run twice a day and cats have lots of room to play).
For the walks, dogs are grouped according to compatibility, erring on the side of caution at all times. If specifically requested, your dog can be walked on a leash, though the vast majority love running free.
Dogs will be comfortable in their spacious kennels, each of which has a large outside run leading to an indoor area with beds and blankets and have 24/7 access to both. Water bowls/buckets are topped up twice a day and kept inside to keep cool.
Your cats will enjoy the freedom of a safe, fully-fenced outdoor play area, as well as two spacious and comfortable indoor rooms, complete with chairs, a sofa, scratching posts, litter trays, and plenty of places to play and hide or just hang out watching the world go by.
Your pets will have plenty of personal attention.
A vet is available if ever necessary.
Any routine medications required will be administered at no extra cost (please clearly label the meds with your pet’s name and amount/frequency. A zip lock bag works well for this).
In addition, we provide email updates and pics of your pets while you are away.Â

Janet Krem at Creature Comforts is absolutely wonderful — your dog will love it there. Janet will put your dog in a compatible group (size-wise and temperament-wise) and she has acres of land for them to run and play in. Her ranch is on the road to Dolores, but if you prefer, she will pick up and drop off in town for an insanely reasonable fee. Our dog recognizes the sound of her car and leaps about in happy anticipation every time she comes to get him.

We couldn’t have been happier with the care that our Border Collie, Buddy, got at Creature Comforts. Both Garth and Angela picked him up from our home in Centro. We instantly loved both Garth and Angela and their warm personalities and knew Buddy would be in great hands. Our three week house hunting trip in Ecuador turned out to be six weeks. Garth and Angela were so helpful with us asking for more time. Buddy was able to run with other dogs and they even sent us videos every week! When they brought him to our home. After 6 weeks, Buddy gazed at Garth when he headed to his car and tried to go back with him!!! What a fabulous experience for our dog and we couldn’t have been happier with the care he received!
Izzy, Sammy, Barb and I have loved Creature Comforts from the first time we went there! Our pups have never been better cared for, nor had such fun when we’ve had to leave them, and I swear they never want to come home when we return. Angela and Garth genuinely care for all the dogs (and cats, too, no doubt) who stay with them. Their intuitive sense of what each one needs, who they will best get along with, and health matters to be looked after, are remarkable. I’ve boarded my dog with Angela and Garth about 4 times now. I always feel good knowing my dog is really in good hands. He runs with his pack a couple of times a day and always seems to have a great roommate! I’ve had to change plans a couple of times and Garth and Angela have been totally accommodating. And now they offer a bath at the end! My dog always comes home happy and tired! Totally recommended.
Creature Comfort is the next best thing to having your beloved pets at home. Angela and Garth are genuine pet lovers and provide an outstanding service. My two small dogs have been there twice and for 2 weeks the last time. They are picked up and dropped off on time and were even bathed before being brought home. I can not recommend this place or the owners highly enough. San Miguel is very fortunate to have this place.
I don’t trust ANYONE with my dog and this is the only place or people I can leave and never have a moment of worry while I”m away. The peace of mind is PRICELESS
We are fortunate to not need the use of this service but I know Angela as a caring, responsible animal loving person who provides the very best care and attention to our furry friends. Highly highly recommend!!!! Quite possibly the very best in San Miguel!
