The Radiators guitarist celebrates his birthday with a multi-day music gathering in San Miguel de Allende, August 20 – 23.

Dave Malone, guitarist and vocalist for The Radiators, is celebrating his birthday with a multi-day music gathering in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Dave’s Birthday Fiesta runs August 20 – 23, and will feature performances from Malone’s band Raw Oyster Cult, along with a lineup of guest musicians. Fans can get in on the celebration by registering at davesbirthdayfiesta.com.

Raw Oyster Cult features four of the five original members of The Radiators, with Malone joined by Camile Baudoin on guitar, Reggie Scanlan on bass and Frank Bua, Jr. on drums, with Mikey “B3” Burkart on keyboards. The band will play two afternoon sets during the weekend at the Zandunga Amphitheater, an open-air venue in the countryside outside San Miguel de Allende.

The celebration opens Thursday, August 20, with a private party at Malone’s home in San Miguel de Allende. Raw Oyster Cult performs Friday, August 21, and Saturday, August 22, at Zandunga Amphitheater.

New Orleans band Desert Nudes is also scheduled to play as part of the weekend’s festivities. Desert Nudes were greatly influenced by Dave Malone and The Radiators. Malone has known Desert Nudes member Andre Bohren since Bohren was born, and the two share the same birthday.

The weekend closes Sunday, August 23, with a performance from Gil Gutiérrez, a San Miguel de Allende-based guitarist known for blending classical, jazz, and traditional Latin music.

Attendees will stay at NUMU Boutique Hotel in the heart of San Miguel de Allende. Packages includes four nights of lodging, food and drinks at all shows and events, and transportation between the hotel and event venues throughout the weekend. Airfare and meals outside of scheduled events are not included.
