During the exile of the Jewish people in Persia, King Ahasuerus looks for a new wife and queen, after deposing Queen Vashti.Hadassah is a Jewish woman who will be chosen as queen of Persia by King Ahasuerus; she, in order to hide her origin, takes the name of Esther.
Uncle Mordecai, who is also Jewish and lives in exile in Persia, will be honored by the king and will provoke the displeasure of Haman, a high-ranking prince in the empire. Haman plans the extermination of the Jews and it is then that Queen Esther intercedes with the king to save her people.
This staging has elements of comic farce as a theatrical contrast to highlight the main values of the biblical story, so the Mexican jocular style will be giving a touch of humor to the representation: “Ester a la mexicana”
Oasis Christian Community Theatre Group
Made up of members of the community who participate in theater both professionally and amateurly. Founded as an alternative proposal to bring biblical passages to other audiences, through scenic art and transmitting a teaching and a message of love and faith.
