On November 26th, 2024, there will be an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at St. Paul’s Church. This service will be co-sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of San Miguel de Allende and St. Paul’s Anglican Church. The service will focus on gratitude (thanksgiving). It will include readings and music from many traditions, all focused on giving thanks. This will be a totally non-political service where people can pause and share an expression of gratitude as it comes to them, from their tradition.
The Rev. Canon George Woodward III, of St. Paul’s, will be the host. Our own beloved minister, the Rev. Tom Rosiello, will offer a sermon based upon a practice found in all of the attending faiths’ traditions. The sermon is entitled, “The Spiritual Practice of Gratitude.” Clergy or spiritual leaders from each tradition present have been invited to give a benediction at the end of the service, in addition to a reading from their tradition. Musicians from several congregations will combine forces, assuring that this service will be an inspiring event!
Several other San Miguel congregations/religious communities will also be attending, as well. The service will start at 6 PM at St. Paul’s, located on Calle del Cardo, near the Ancha. A reception with finger desserts will follow the service, to allow time for attendees to chat and get to know each other.
