Is La Biblioteca an art room?

Attend the opening of COMMON EFFORT, an exhibition of contemporary video art in which four art galleries and an artists’ cooperative join forces to showcase the best of today’s video art: Kurimanzutto, Nuweland, Taller 30, Trapo Galería, YAM Gallery.

Walk through the reading rooms of La Biblioteca and discover more than 15 works of video art, scattered on the book shelves.

Also enjoy the DJ Set by Talacha and Videomapping byKarina Ávarez.

We are a non-profit organization that has been serving the San Miguel community for more than 65 years.  The mission of the Biblioteca is to provide, develop and maintain educational and cultural activities that contribute toward an integrated and harmonious community.  The staff and volunteers work together to provide an inviting community center that provides a lending library, skills training, educational and cultural activities in a safe environment for a multi-generational and a multi-cultural community. The library has thrived and grown through the generous gift of time and money by members of the community, and as is still the case, has relied for the past 50 years on the continued financial support of the people in San Miguel de Allende. The Biblioteca wishes to thank all of the generous persons, groups and companies for their donations of time and money.
