Five Exhibitions Coming to Bellas Artes

The Cultural Center of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature in San Miguel de Allende will present 5 exhibitions of various artistic areas

The Cultural Center of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL) in San Miguel de Allende, is preparing a series of summer exhibitions that will be inaugurated next Wednesday, June 26.

With five exhibitions, which cover various artistic expressions, the Cultural Center “El Nigromante” will welcome the summer by offering visitors and locals an option to learn about the traditions of San Miguel through its artists, in addition to delving into the art of dance, ceramics and photography.

La Mojiganga is one of the greatest emblems of art and tradition in San Miguel de Allende, so in one of the exhibitions tribute will be paid to its creators through “Mojigangueros”, exhibiting part of the history and work of those who for years dedicated themselves to this trade and were in charge of transmitting it from generation to generation. until reaching the who currently create these emblematic characters and promote this tradition.

Another of the exhibitions will remember the origin and evolution of one of the most deeply rooted traditions of the city by commemorating 100 years of the Alborada in San Miguel de Allende, an emblematic festival that is celebrated in the early hours of the Saturday following September 29 on the occasion of the festivity of San Miguel Arcángel, patron saint of the city.

Dance could not be left out of this artistic exhibition, so a space is dedicated to it from a different perspective with the exhibition “Dancing Footprints”, showing everything that lives behind a staging.

To complete the quintet, the work of students of the Cultural Center will be shown with “Living Ceramics”, an exhibition that reflects the wonders of the creative process that requires passion and hard work; and the peculiar perspective that the artist Arturo Morales Rangel shares through his photographs will be shown, with the exhibition “In front of my eyes”.

All exhibitions are free and can be visited starting Wednesday, June 26 at the “El Nigromante” Cultural Center, located at Hernández Macías No.75 in downtown San Miguel de Allende, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
